Terms & Conditions
1. Who we are
MilliScoop is a product of Vault of Time (Pty) Ltd, a private company incorporated in the Republic of South Africa with registration number 2025/875420/07 ("Vault of Time", "we", "us"). Our physical address is 13 Senator Senekal Street, Viljoenskroon, 9520 and we can be reached at hello@vaultoftime.com. These terms are a binding agreement between you and Vault of Time governing your use of MilliScoop at milli.vaultoftime.com (the "Service"). By using the Service, you accept these terms.
2. What MilliScoop is
MilliScoop sells unique digital artworks called Millis. Each Milli is generated algorithmically from the exact millisecond at which you choose to redeem a scoop. Because no two milliseconds can ever repeat, no two Millis can ever be identical. You are purchasing a one-of-one digital artwork created at a moment of your choosing, together with the experience of watching it drawn.
Every scoop produces a complete artwork of equal standing. MilliScoop has no rarity tiers, no prize hierarchy, and no outcome that is more valuable than any other. Variation between Millis is aesthetic, determined by the moment of redemption. The artwork you receive is the product you paid for, in full, every time. Millis have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for money or anything else of value, and the Service provides no marketplace, trading, or resale functionality.
3. Scoops and scoop credits
Scoops are purchased in bundles at the prices displayed at checkout, in United States Dollars. Purchased scoops are held as credits in a wallet linked to the email address you provide at payment. You may redeem credits at any time of your choosing; the moment of redemption determines your artwork.
In accordance with section 63 of the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, unredeemed scoop credits remain valid for three (3) years from the date of purchase or until redeemed, whichever comes first. Credits are not transferable between wallets and cannot be exchanged for cash except as described in sections 6 and 8 below.
4. The free scoop
The Service may offer a free demonstration scoop. Artworks produced by free scoops carry a visible watermark and are provided for evaluation and enjoyment; they are otherwise subject to the same license terms as purchased Millis.
5. Your account
No registration is required to purchase. Your wallet is created automatically using the email address associated with your payment. Access to your wallet from a new device is granted via a secure sign-in link sent to that email address. You are responsible for maintaining access to, and the security of, that email account. We will never ask you for a password because none exists.
6. Refunds and cooling-off
Unredeemed credits. You may request a refund of unredeemed scoop credits within seven (7) days of purchase in accordance with section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, and we may in our discretion refund unredeemed credits after that period.
Redeemed scoops. A redeemed scoop produces a unique artwork generated to your specification — the specific moment you chose — and is delivered instantly as digital content. Redeemed scoops are accordingly non-refundable to the extent permitted by the exclusions in section 42(2) of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act and applicable consumer law.
7. Your license to your Milli
When you redeem a scoop, Vault of Time grants you a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive license to use, display, reproduce, and share the resulting Milli for personal, non-commercial purposes — including as wallpapers, prints for personal display, and posts on social media. Vault of Time retains all intellectual property in the generative algorithms, the MilliScoop name, and the Service itself. Commercial use of a Milli requires our prior written consent. Inscriptions you add to a Milli are your own words; you confirm you have the right to use them and that they are lawful.
8. The Season — MilliScoop ends
MilliScoop is a limited season of ten weekly legends. New scoops will cease to be sold at the end of the season, on a date published on the Service. This ending is a designed feature of the artwork, not a withdrawal of service.
Because credits remain valid under the Consumer Protection Act beyond the season's end, we will: (a) stop selling scoop bundles in the final period of the season, announced in advance; (b) keep redemption available for all outstanding credits for a published wind-down period after the final legend; and (c) refund any credits that remain unredeemed at the close of the wind-down period, to the original payment method where possible.
Your Millis outlast the season. We will use reasonable endeavours to keep an archive available where your saved Millis and their etching replays remain accessible after the season ends. If we ever discontinue the archive entirely, we will give at least ninety (90) days' notice and a means to download your Millis.
9. Fair use of the Service
You agree not to interfere with the Service, attempt to manipulate timestamps or seeds, circumvent payment, scrape or mass-download content, or use the Service for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend wallets involved in fraud or abuse, with refund of legitimately purchased unredeemed credits.
10. Age
The Service is intended for persons aged 18 and over. By purchasing, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old.
11. Service, warranties, and liability
We provide the Service with reasonable skill and care, but it is provided "as is" and we do not warrant uninterrupted availability. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act or other law that cannot be limited by agreement. Subject to that, our total liability to you in connection with the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on the Service with the date of update. Changes do not affect Millis already redeemed or the license granted for them.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa. You may approach the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud or the National Consumer Commission with any complaint we cannot resolve directly. Contact us first at hello@vaultoftime.com — we would rather fix it than fight it.
